The paradigm shift in the NEP 2020 is holisitic development rather than focus on marks. Pedagogy in the NEP 2020 will necessitate:

1. Creativity – the NEP 2020 will allow teachers’ to stimulate a child’s imagination and focus on social, and emotional dispositions.
2. Multidisciplinary Approach to Learning – Different areas of learning will be integrated and united, breaking rigid silos of learning of arts, science and humanities.
3. Experiential Learning – Active engagement in learning will enhance the learning curve and fulfil learning outcomes. Students will be exposed to learning experiences that bring in reflection and self- evaluation.
4. Build on future ready employability skills – Children will be exposed to vocational courses with a view of discovering their passion and interest. Appreciation of job roles and building up job-specific skills will pave the way for enhanced employability skills.
5. Windowed Assessments – Assessments will build in responsibility in children through self – assessment, peer- assessment and higher order thinking skill based assessments. The outcome will result in less focus on rote learning and encourage conceptual learning and skill- based learning.
6. Transparent Progress Reports – Emphasis on social, emotional, psychomotor and affective domains.
Parent Engagement in NEP 2020.
· Early Childhood Care and Education: The framework for early education from 0- 8 years will revolve around cultural heritage and traditions; wherein parents will be involved through songs, poetry and tales.
· Bilingual teaching and resources – Teaching and textbooks will be made available in varied languages in Math and Science, allowing space for parent engagement with ease.
· Flexible Assessments - that focus on real- life learning and concepts helps parents connect with the learning of the child.
· Blended Learning and leveraging technology – Online classes, online apps, quizzes and online communities provide room for parents to be involved in their child’s learning journey.
What’s NCFE Doing?
The VijayKiran Learning Centre along with the Leadership of the School has prepared an internal timeline for teacher readiness in implementing the NEP 2020. The ongoing training and evaluation process helps teachers stay tuned to NEP 2020 expectations and universal educational demands.
