A Teachers' Day without Students! The expression of love and respect which was usually witnessed, seemed compromised due to the impact of the COVID- 19 Pandemic, with School Closures.
Nevertheless, the significance and priority of the VKGI Management, was to make the Day as memorable and exceptional, as it could be for the Faculty.
Understanding teachers' influence on students is the substructure for any educational institution. Instilling this into the teachers' is the liability of the School Board of Management.
So, at VKG,I we took them on a journey of transformation.
Dr. N Vijaya Kumar- Chairman, Vijay Kiran Group of Institutions took the forefront in leading teachers to 'Reimagine Education'. A window of the 'Road Ahead' was opened to the teachers- one that allows them to reimagine education which is varied, follows multiple paths and processes and has no fixed way of learning. The NEP 2020 highlights embedded were shared - Assessments, standardisation, upgradable qualification, inclusive teacher, continuous professional development. The Chairman reminded the VKGI cohort that, the time has come to reawaken a teacher - the role has changed.
Mr. Kiran Vijay- Director, Vijay Kiran Group of Institutions released the initiatives by VKGI in order to support teachers with regard to hardware and software. A Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with the S Pen came as a warm gesture from the Board of Management for teachers to use, amidst the challenges faced by every household due to the Lockdown. Every teacher would receive this to help them sustain the course. The large heartedness of the Board of Management was received with gratitude by our faculty. The mentorship programme was launched along with the a peek into the LMS, in the making.
Ms. Sunalini Benjamin - COO, Vijay Kiran Group of Institutions re- examined the role of a teacher from the traditional to the Gen Z Facilitator. Traits and Attributes were communicated through an infographic. Teachers were reminded that they could no longer be mere facilitators for learning of the students but have to be geared up for sustainable education. This reflects on the teachers' responsibility for training the students to increase employability skills, expand their minds, grow digital citizenships, critical thinking, and creativity as well as sustainable learning.
A song was written by Ms. Sunalini, music composed by Mr. Stanley and was dedicated to the teachers, rendered soulfully by Mr. Stanley.
Success stories are always inspirational. Success peps up the spirit in us. VKGI has carried a decade plus years of Legacy in the field of Education. Ms. Susan Barrid, Principal of NCFE_CVR shared her story of learning at VKGI.
The message for the faculty of VKGI rested in looking forward to an educational system that is open, collaborative, no right way of learning and to keep in mind that, change is constant!
The wish for the teachers was to Rise, Revive, Rejuvenate, Rekindle, Renew, Refresh and Reform as a stepping stone to their teaching career @2020

Who will be the illiterate of the 21st century? Let’s see what tell American writer Alvin Toffler had to say -
"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."
