In November 2024, the Toyota Hilux was once again the leader in local bakkie sales, with 2 702 new units — across single-, Xtra, and double-cab body styles — sold in the second to last month of 2024. The remaining spots were occupied by the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Mahindra Pik Up, and Nissan Navara. Here’s a look at South Africa’s top five best-selling bakkies in November 2024.

Comparing November 2024’s top-five best-selling bakkies to October 2024’s, the top five have remained the same, with Toyota continuing to dominate the local bakkie segment in November 2024. However, there were some changes, although marginal, to each model range’s sales figures. For example, compared to the previous month, Hilux sales were down by 91 units in November 2024. Sales of the Isuzu D-Max, Mahindra Pik Up, and Nissan Navara were also down — 43, 10, and 74 units, respectively.

Ford Ranger sales climbed, however, with 2 248 (up 31) new units of the Blue Oval’s bakkie finding homes in November 2024. Noteworthy, so did sales of the Volkswagen Amarok, which missed out on the top five by only seven units. In November 2024, 337 customers (an increase of 39) put pen to paper for the locally-built, new-generation Amarok.
