Before diving in, it is worth noting that despite the anticipated new generation, reports suggest the new Hilux will retain its current IMV platform, specifically an updated version known as IMV-0. Contrary to earlier speculation, it is unlikely that the TNGA-F platform used by will likely employ mild-hybrid options to appease emissions restrictions in certain markets.
Design-wise, the most noticeable changes are at the front, with a completely reimagined fascia. The grille is larger and more prominent, complemented by redesigned headlights and a sculpted bonnet. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, subtle updates to the door handles and side mirrors are anticipated. At the rear, the Hilux is expected to feature redesigned taillights and a refreshed tailgate.
Interior details remain speculative, but it is likely the cabin will see a significant upgrade. Expect a more modern design, improved ergonomics, and premium materials. A larger touchscreen infotainment system is almost certain, as Toyota aims to keep the Hilux competitive in the global market.

Interestingly, Headlightmag who has prepared the renders hints at a possible naming update, suggesting the new model could be called the “Toyota Hilux Travo.” However, it remains unclear if this name will be used globally or limited to specific markets. Could this then be a direct continuation of the current Hilux generation instead of a preview into an all-new iteration similarly to what Vivo is to Polo and Quest is to Toyota? Time will tell as the year continues to unfold and but considering the next-generation Toyota Hilux is anticipated to make its global debut in Thailand later this year, it is likely that this will in fact be the all-new replacement.
