As a reminder, the Corolla Cross is available with the choice of two engine options, both driving the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The (non-electrified) 1.8-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit produces 103 kW and 172 N.m of torque. Toyota claims the latter powertrain sips, on average, 6.8 L/100 km. Then there is a new-energy version of the atmospheric 1.8-litre engine, which incorporates an electric motor. The hybrid (HEV) models are endowed with 90 kW and 142 N.m. The latter derivatives have a claimed average fuel consumption figure of 4.3 L/100 km.
