Alongside the reveal of a sportily-styled Swift (though not a new Swift Sport, mind) and the adventure-focused Jimny Conqueror Concept, Suzuki has whipped the wraps off a Fronx Turbo concept car at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in India.
Lending the Suzuki Fronx Turbo Concept a sporty appearance, the otherwise two-tone, silver and dark grey show car sports distinct exterior trim, including “Turbo” decals on the side of the front doors and several red trim elements. Black alloy wheels are also present.

Not much has been revealed about its powertrain, though; however, those with a keen eye will notice that, at the rear, there is a badge containing the word “hybrid”. But whether this is, indeed, a turbocharged petrol-electric powertrain remains to be seen. Could it be a hybridised version of the company’s 1.4-litre, four-cylinder Boosterjet engine?

As a reminder, the local Fronx line-up — of which we’re currently running a range-topping, GLX-spec unit in our long-term test fleet — is exclusively powered by the Japanese automaker’s familiar K15B powertrain. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is also employed by several other Suzuki models, including the Baleno, Grand Vitara (bar the mild-hybrid model) and Ertiga, churns out 77 kW and 138 N.m of torque, the former and latter available from 6 000 r/min and 4 400 r/min, respectively. Drive is exclusively sent to the in-vogue-styled crossover/SUV’s front axle via either a five-speed manual cog swapper or four-speed automatic transmission.
