Audi’s Q5 Sportback is back for a second generation, building upon the visual flair and dynamic character of its popular forebear.

Featuring more dynamic styling, the new Q5 Sportback is based on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, which also underpins the box-fresh A5 (December 2024) and, of course, third-generation Q5 SUV. At market launch, the Sportback will be available with the choice of three engine options, each incorporating 48 V mild-hybrid technology, which, for brief periods, provides an additional 25 kW and 230 N.m.

The model range opens with the 150 kW and 340 N.m 2.0 TFSI, available in both front-wheel drive and quattro all-wheel drive, while the sole diesel option is the quattro-equipped 2.0 TDI, which churns out 150 kW and 400 N.m. Spearheading the line-up, the SQ5 retains its forebear’s 3.0-litre turbopetrol V6, uprated by 10 kW and 50 N.m for peak outputs of 270 kW and 550 N.m. All models are equipped with an S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Stepping inside, an expansive dual-screen arrangement, comprising a 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, takes centre stage. A 10.9-inch front passenger display is available as an option. Audi claims a luggage capacity of “up to” 515 litres for the non-S-badged derivatives and 470 litres for the SQ5 model.
