The BYD Atto 2’s contemporary styling is complemented by decidedly rugged design elements, such as chunky wheelarch and side mouldings. The headlamp clusters house LED daytime-running lights. Flush door handles contribute to the SUV’s streamlined design. ‘Round back, an LED light strip spans the tailgate. The Atto 2 measures 4 310 mm in length and 1 830 mm in width, making it 145 mm shorter and 45 mm narrower than the Atto 3.

Inside, the Atto 2 features a rotating central infotainment screen, which transitions from portrait to landscape orientation at the touch of a button. A digital driver’s display is also present. A notable highlight is the diamond-cut drive selector, surrounded by analogue switchgear for operating essential functions.
The Atto 2 will initially be offered with a 45 kWh battery. BYD claims an electric operation range of over 300 km. The battery is coupled with a front-mounted 130 kW electric motor. However, the firm plans on introducing a more powerful variant later in the year.
